2026 Style Guide: What to Wear for Your Personal Branding Shoot

Staring into the abyss that is your wardrobe and wondering what on earth to wear for your photoshoot? Fear not. The goal is simple: look like yourself, but on your best day. Here’s how to combine timeless advice with the fashion trends predicted for 2026.

SHESHOOTS Ground rules that never change

  • Comfort first. Your clothes should let you sit, stand, walk and laugh without constant adjusting. Tight, restrictive outfits will make you look (and feel) stiff. Being comfortable translates into better shots.

  • Avoid bright fluoros and tiny stripes. Fluorescent colours reflect off your skin and mess with skin tones, while fine stripes create a weird strobing effect on camera. Choose solid colours or subtle patterns instead. ** Some brands have flouro as part of their branding colours - so wear it if it’s appropriate - see Nat below!

  • Plan and layer. Lay everything out a week before so you can see how it all looks together. Change up your look by adding jackets, scarves or different tops. It’s easier than a full outfit change.

  • Stay true to your brand colours. Think about your website palette and choose outfits that complement it rather than clash. You don’t have to be fully matchy-matchy, just not horribly clashing ;)

Nat Tolhoph absolutely rocking the flouro as part of her brand colours 🥰 Nat suits this colour and can pull it off… so the fact that it’s reflecting on her skin all good…

2026 IS ALL ABOUT…

Relaxed tailoring

Say goodbye to stiff, boxy suits. 2026’s take on tailoring is soft and comfortable.
Unstructured blazers paired with jeans and wide‑leg or relaxed trousers for movement and ease. A single‑breasted jacket with soft shoulders looks modern without feeling restrictive.

Layering neutrals

Layer creams, taupes, greys and pastels for depth and sophistication. A cream jumper under a grey jacket with camel trousers looks chic without trying too hard. Mixing fabrics like silk and wool adds texture; a pop of colour in a scarf or necklace keeps things interesting.

SUMMER

Flowy lightweight tops and blouses. Maxi rsort dresses (sustainable options are key). Wide-leg trousers (men's and women's). Oversized T-shirts and shirts. Woven bags, chunky sandals, architectural jewellery.
Colours to Watch:

Transformative Teal: A blend of blue/green, symbolizing renewal.

Earth Tones: Browns, greens, greys, oranges.

Pastels: Pearlescent whites, Lavender Blue, Pink Flare.

Brights: Sun Yellow, Turquoise, Electric Fuchsia.

You can always wear a bunch of colours too like Danielle Barclay from Blur The Lines. ⭐🦋 - BE YOU - ALWAYS 💫

Looking ahead for winter:
Luxurious knitwearChunky cardigans, cashmere jumpers and fine merino layers aren’t just cosy; they photograph beautifully. Neutral tones like cream, beige and sage create a refined look. Balance oversized knits with tailored trousers or a fitted skirt

(SOME)Bold prints

Prints are big in 2026, but subtlety is key. Using animal prints or florals as accents rather than centerpieces keeps your look timeless. Think scarf, belt or shoes rather than head‑to‑toe leopard. We don’t want your clothes overshadowing you on your shoot.

Statement sleeves and strong shoulders

Definitely not for everyone, but apparently power dressing is back, in moderation. Puff sleeves and sculpted shoulders draw the eye and give simple pieces drama. Balance the volume with streamlined trousers or a pencil skirt to keep things polished.

Comfortable footwear with flair

The era of teetering stilettos is over. Loafers, block heels and sleek trainers dominate the runways. Comfort is so important on your shoot…. feeling good translates to relaxed and good looking shots.

Pops of red - Or your brand colour!

Neutrals may be the foundation, but red is 2026’s power colour. A red blazer, coat or even a handbag injects warmth and confidence. Pair it with camel, navy or black for a polished feel. And if red is a clash, bring on the colours of your and your brand!

Pulling it all together

Choose outfits that feel like you while nodding to these trends. Bring options to your shoot so we can mix and match. Avoid anything so trendy it looks dated in six months. Most importantly, wear pieces that make you stand a little taller. Feel a little happier, and fit well… Confidence is the real outfit maker.

Honestly, so many ways to stay “on trend”, but still be you…
